What’s the most important thing in our lives? What’s the next most important thing? What are we going to say no to so we can focus on those things? What are we going to say no to (or yes to) in order to protect our personal happiness and peace?
The key isn’t to always do more, more, more, but sometimes to do less so that we can do more of what we care most about.
We have no working way to get photos off the camera except this!
Using Mood to track my mood once a day.
Enjoyed this one the most of the first 3 Slow Horses books. Finished reading: Real Tigers by Mick Herron 📚
Because why wouldn’t there be a dinosaur wrapped in a towel in the bathroom to startle you?
Long story short.
A friend has me browsing second hand film cameras. In the meantime I got Lyra’s digital camera out of the cupboard. Something about the photos just feels different. In any case, we don’t have a way to get the photos off the SD card in the house (!!!). Elise has started showing interest in using it, which led me to dig out an old Canon Ixus that hopefully works. Obviously she needs a webpage for which she has an amazing name.
More as the story develops.

A newsletter I follow used this caption and it made me chuckle.
Currently reading the third Slough House book. The story line is fine and enjoyable but I am loving the language so much. Much more than the first two.

Be a good steward of your gifts. Protect your time. Feed your inner life. Avoid too much noise. Read good books, have good sentences in your ears. Be by yourself as often as you can. Walk. Take the phone off the hook. Work regular hours.
Watching some of the students in my class this week I realised you can “pull down” on the iPad keyboard to get the number or symbol the key also represents. Kids today!
Is there a simple way to share an article from NetNewsWire to Micro.blog on my iPad?
Elise is loving Prehistoric Planet on Apple TV+. Dinosaurs in a nature programme style with David Attenborough narration.

Lot on at work this week. I have been trying to not let it overwhelm me (as I do normally). Exercise, family time, sleep (to a degree) are sacred now. Regardless of how much is going on.
This new mindset is hard.
7:45pm.
Lost my patience.
Just ran out of steam.
Just annoying.
So close to making it.
The feeling comes so fast and I cannot control it
I’m on fire, but I’m trying not to show it
As it picks me up, puts me down
It picks me up, puts me down
Picks me up, it puts me down
A hundred times a day
But I hear the music, I feel the beat
And for a moment, when I’m dancing, I am free
- When you meet with opposition, even if it should be from your husband or your children, endeavor to overcome it by argument and not by authority, for a victory dependent upon authority is unreal and illusory.

A night away with Lyra feels like turning myself off and on again.
