GUIDELINES FOR THE YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP
- The OMRRC Youth
Scholarship shall be governed solely by the OMRRC Youth
Scholarship Committee.
- The committee
shall consist of three members and a chairperson, as well,
as the Secretary/Treasurer of the OMRRC.
- The withdrawal of
monies for award of the OMRRC Youth Scholarship(s) shall be
made by the OMRRC Secretary/Treasurer upon written request
from the OMRRC Youth Scholarship Committee Chairperson.
- Monies withdrawn
for the OMRRC Youth Scholarship award(s) shall be included
in the report made by the OMRRC Secretary/Treasurer at the
annual meeting. This report shall be published in the OMRRC
Newsletter.
- The amount
awarded for each OMRRC Youth Scholarship shall be $500.00.
There will be a minimum of 1 scholarship awarded each year
as long as there are sufficient funds in the club account.
Each scholarship awarded by the OMRRC Youth Scholarship
Committee shall be approved by the OMRRC Board of Directors.
- The recipient(s)
of the OMRRC Youth Scholarship shall be selected prior to May
1st. The Scholarship(s)
will be awarded by May 31st.
- The OMRRC Youth
Scholarship Committee shall be responsible for application
forms, criteria, and selection of scholarship winners.
Requirements for Receiving a Scholarship
- The
recipient must have been a member of the OMRRC for at
least three (3) consecutive years with no lapse in
membership in order to be eligible to submit an
application.
- The
Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or in
their first year of college.
- The
Applicant must be active in raising and showing
rabbits. They must provide proof of this activity.
Proof shall consist of show reports listing them as a
valid exhibitor. The Applicant must attend a minimum of
five (5) ARBA sanctioned shows each year.
- The
scholarship will be paid to the school in the
recipients’ name upon submitting proof of enrollment in
an accredited two or four year college/university or
vocational school.
- Completed
application forms must be submitted to the OMRRC Youth
Scholarship Committee Chairperson no later than March 31st
of the year that the scholarship is to be awarded
